Ingredients

For the biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons butter cold unsalted , cubed
  • ¾ cup buttermilk plus more if needed

For the honey butter:

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • pinch of salt

For the sandwiches:

  • 4 sausage patties or bacon strips
  • 4 eggs cooked to your liking (fried, scrambled, etc.)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in cold butter with a pastry cutter or your fingers until crumbly. Stir in buttermilk just until dough comes together.

  • Turn onto a floured surface, pat into a 1-inch thick round, and cut 4–5 biscuits.

  • Place on a baking sheet and bake 12–15 minutes, until golden.

  • In a small bowl, mix softened butter, honey, and a pinch of salt until smooth and fluffy. Set aside (try not to eat it with a spoon).

  • While the biscuits bake, cook your sausage or bacon and eggs to your liking. Melt a slice of cheese on each patty or egg right before assembling.

  • Split the warm biscuits, spread each half with honey butter, then layer with sausage or bacon, egg, and melty cheese.

Notes
